Combined heat and power modules (CHP modules) are compact energy generation units that provide a de-centralised (local) supply of heat and power with a consumer focus at an overall efficiency of around 90%. Compared with a separate energy supply with power from a condensing power plant and heat from a boiler, primary energy savings of well over 30% can be achieved. This is also linked to a corresponding reduction in pollution. Depending on the fuel comparison, this means the emission of up to 25% less nitrogen oxide (acid rain) and around 60% less carbon dioxide (greenhouse gas). The Vitobloc 200 meets the demanding technical connection conditions (TAB) of the network operators. The standard equipment includes starter batteries and a synchronous generator, which also allow the CHP unit to run in mains substitution mode.
Longer service intervals are achieved thanks to the integral lubricating oil supply reduce operating costs and downtimes. The fully plumbed and wired units are factory tested resulting in minimum installation effort and verified output values.
Vitobloc 200 combined heat and power units (CHP) from Viessmann are ready to use systems. One standard frame holds the engine, generator, sound insulated casing and control unit.
CHP units are ideal when heat is needed continuously and power generation can run for as long as possible. These conditions apply, for example, in hotels, residential developments of 30 to 50 units, holiday complexes, swimming pools and shopping centres as well as in industry, trade and commercial premises.
The Vitobloc 200 EM-50/81 CHP units deliver an output of 50 kWel and 81 kWth. A downstream condensing heat exchanger allows up to 16 kWth to be supplied to the heating system as well.
Longer service intervals due to the integral lubricating oil supply reduce operating costs and idle times. Fully plumbed and wired units tested in the factory mean minimum installation effort and tested output values.
All modules can be operated in parallel mains mode and optionally also in emergency power mode. This means that, in the event of a power grid failure, the Vitobloc 200 can supply the unit with power after a short start-up time.
When power is generated in power stations (centralised power supply), heat is created that is often lost to the environment without being used. The utilisation of this heat, e.g. for heating buildings, reduces heat losses and lowers emissions that are damaging to the environment. Combined heat and power generation enables up to 36% of primary energy to be saved and is therefore one of the most efficient energy-saving methods available today
