Photovoltaic cells (PV cells) offer an effective way to harness the free energy emitted by the sun to help power your home or business. Did you know that on average, every year the sun emits 1,000 kWh of energy onto each square metre of central Europe? In terms of energy content, this is equivalent to 100 litres of fuel oil. In the past, this energy was simply lost, but now an increasing number of households and companies are tapping into this natural resource to save themselves money and cut their carbon footprints.
PV solar panels give you the chance to generate your own electricity to power your lighting and appliances.
PV modules can also be combined with power storage units in order to provide greater independence from the grid. The cells don’t require direct sunlight to work; they generate power even on cloudy days.
Available with monocrystalline and polycrystalline silicon cells, the Vitovolt 200 is a powerful, attractively priced solution. Its photovoltaic panels are suitable for a wide variety of roof areas.
Offering excellent quality, an impressive yield capacity and guaranteed safety, the Vitovolt 300 features a black anodised frame and monocrystalline cells. This gives it a particularly dark hue and attractive appearance.
Made from layers of semi-conducting material, our photovoltaic solar panels create an electric field when sunlight shines on them. When you choose PV panels from Viessmann, you can rest assured you’re benefiting from the very highest quality standards and technical expertise. We have more than four decades of experience in designing and manufacturing solar energy technology.
As an added benefit, all of our heating systems are designed to work in conjunction with solar technology, meaning you have the option of incorporating a heat pump, new oil or gas condensing boiler or wood heating system if you wish.
When you invest in photovoltaic solar technology, you are in effect creating a power plant on the roof of your home or business. The average power consumption of one person can be covered by an area of PV cells measuring just 8.5 m².
Also, thanks to the government’s Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI), you can earn money for the energy produced by your PV cells.
By installing a PV system, you are lowering your carbon dioxide emissions over the long term and demonstrating your commitment to protecting the environment. As a bonus, by choosing Viessmann, you can rest assured you’re benefiting from future-proof technology and a system in which all the elements interact for optimum effect.
As well as offering PV cells, we provide a range of solar thermal solutions that can provide you with hot water for your central heating and DHW systems. We offer flat plate collector and tube collector solutions so you can always find the ideal system for your home.
Our solar thermal technology is designed for easy and seamless integration with our heating and DHW products.
The dual-mode hot water storage cylinder is the centrepiece of this solution. When there is enough heat, the solar medium in the solar system passes through the heat exchanger, warming the water in the DHW cylinder. When the temperature falls, for example when hot water is used for a shower or bath, the boiler will provide extra heating via the second circuit if required.
Our solar thermal solutions offer reliable DHW and heating. A control system checks whether the desired room temperature can be achieved. If the temperature is lower than the target level, a boiler will switch on to provide additional hot water.
